CaribSafe started from a simple belief: Caribbean communities deserve better tools to stay aware, connected, and safe.

Over time, it became clear that when incidents happen, people are often left relying on scattered information instead of having a simple way to stay informed in real time. CaribSafe was created to bring that awareness into one place, helping people share trusted safety information and look out for one another.

The goal is simple: give communities across the Caribbean a better way to stay informed, support each other, and respond quickly when something happens.

CaribSafe is built not only to help local communities stay connected and aware, but also to help visitors and tourists stay informed and safe while enjoying our beautiful islands. Because in the Caribbean, community has always meant looking out for each other.

The Founder's Story

I was born and raised in the Caribbean, a place known around the world for its beauty, culture, and strong sense of community. But for those of us who live here, we also understand the everyday realities that don't make it into the travel brochures.

Things like getting home late at night and wanting family to know you arrived safely. A partner worries while someone works a late shift. Visiting a quiet beach or unfamiliar area and wishing you had better local awareness of what's happening around you.

For a region built on community, there wasn't a simple way for people to stay connected and look out for one another in real time.

I searched for an app that understood the Caribbean, something designed for the way we live here, not a safety app built for somewhere else and adapted to fit our islands.

But nothing like that existed.

So I decided to build it.

CaribSafe started with a simple idea: what if communities across the Caribbean had better tools to stay aware, connected, and support each other when it matters most?

The goal is simple: to help people stay informed, stay connected with the people they trust, and feel safer wherever they are across our islands.

Because in the Caribbean, looking out for each other has always been part of who we are.

Privacy is non-negotiable
Your location, your data, your safety information, none of it is ever sold, shared with advertisers, or used to profile you. We only access your location when you actively trigger a safety feature. Full stop.
Safety should be accessible
The most important features, SOS alert, trusted contacts, incident map, are free. Always. We believe the basics of personal safety shouldn't be locked behind a paywall.
Local knowledge matters
CaribSafe is designed for the Caribbean, not a generic safety app re-skinned for the region. Every decision reflects the reality of life on the islands we serve.
Speed over everything
In an emergency, seconds matter. Every feature is designed to work in one tap or less. No menus, no logins, no friction when it counts most.
Community makes it better
The incident map is only as good as the community that contributes to it. Every report from a resident or visitor makes CaribSafe more useful for everyone on that island.
Honesty over hype
CaribSafe is a real tool for real situations, not a magic shield. We'll always be transparent about what the app can and can't do, and we'll keep improving based on genuine community feedback.

Core safety features, SOS alert, check-in timer, journey tracking, incident map, shake to alert, and trusted contacts, fully live on iOS for TCI residents and visitors.

Android + expanded TCI coverage Coming
Android launch to reach the full TCI population. Deeper local integrations, emergency service numbers, and a community dashboard for incident transparency.

Caribbean-wide expansion Coming
Rolling CaribSafe out island by island, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, the Cayman Islands, and beyond. Each launch tailored to the specific safety landscape of that territory.
